Bahi's moving up in the world

Postby Leedar » Sat Jan 28, 2012 10:34 pm

He's working on a TV show directed by Shinichiro Watanabe.

I am very intrigued to see his animation, particularly in a bona fide Japanese production setting. Hopefully it is a bit more than a few seconds. :-P

Wow that's really great news!

I guess it should be okay to mention now, which is probably worth mentioning:

Studio MAPPA is practically an unknown, but last I met Madhouse's Masao Maruyama through a panel he mentioned that he was planning to leave and form a studio...

EDIT:

I just want to say, congrats to Bahi and you're a damn inspiration to us all. Keep drawing!

He's working on a genuine Japanese TV series? AND it's a series on noitaminA? AND it's directed by Shinichiro Watanabe?!! Congratualtions Bahi! this is mind-blowing. I cannot wait to watch it! Bahi will have to show us exactly where the parts he animates are at.

Also the trailer doesn't look that bad. That drummer is pretty awesome.

Thanks a lot everyone!!! ( ^0^)/

I'll let you guys know wich cuts I've done for the show, but it's gonna take a while because I work on a later episode.

___
Anyway, thanks for all the great support!
All this wouldn't be possible without the support and help of the people I've met on the internet.
Specially Cindy Yamauchi, she is one of the sakkan's of the Apollon show.
___

@smashingtofu Yup, MAPPA is pretty FRESH, and Sakamichi no Apollon is their first show.
I think it was a good idea of Maruyama-san to open this studio, I hope for the best.

@Pandadice working on a show, directed by one of my favourite Anime directors.......it's really is mind blowing! The whole staff is amazing!
I'm really excited about Yoko Kanno's tracks for the show.

It's really amazing, I remember when I started my first gif-animation on this thread--> http://www.pelleas.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=486

Congratulations mate!

I hope you post the end credits frame of the series, when your name rolls on them. Will it be "Bahijd" or your real name in latin characters? Or will it be in Japanese?

Congratulations Bahi

It's simply awesome that you managed to land a position as key animator with prestigious creators. Japan needs people like you. Like smashingtofu said, you are inspiration for us all. Your hard work and goal paid off.

Now I need to think about my priority and goal....

Thanks guys!
I've been trying to get this job since a long time now, and the more I tried the more impossible it got for me, but well KEEP TRYING!!!
I also wish you all great success for the future.

@Pete: I asked them to write my name in latin (romaji) characters, "Bahi JD"

The new Studios are all a new hope for animation.
And I think the new generation can bring a very strong enthusiasm for 2D animation again.

Since Bahi is working on Japanese production, I wonder if he is going to Japan for duration of the production or doing home office where he sends his work via express mail/email.

Honestly, I don't want to see him going to back to Iran or Austria after his visa expires.

Thanks again guys!

@H Park
Um, I'll do the work from Austria, all through the internet. Can't fly to Japan currently because of university.
....it needs a lot more planning and time.....and of course it's very expensive to stay in Japan for months.
But I have plans for the future. ( ^ -^)b

Wow, how convenient. I guess major companies have their telecommunication issues squared away.
Of course, stay in Japan, especially Tokyo area, is very expensive. Staying in Tokyo as animation artist is not helping at all. I hope that more Japanese companies offer telecommuting for artists who live in rural area or oversea.
Anyway, I hope you get more opportunities from Japanese after the project is over.
